If you were among the many to add Heatworks' Tetra countertop dishwasher to your holiday wishlist in 2018, then I have some good news for you. It's finally available for pre-order — and it can be yours for the steep price of $399.
I know what you're probably thinking: "This thing was supposed to be $299!" Well, it's not the exactsame dishwasher we saw three years ago. Heatworks has since made some tweaks.

In terms of design, the Tetra sports a more minimalist aesthetic that seems easier to incorporate into any home decor. Heatworks says it nixed the accent colors — like orange and red, as seen on its demo unit — based on user feedback.
The company also increased the amount of dishes it can hold from two full place settings to three. Now, it can now fit three plates, three bowls, and three cups, leaving room for utensils and anything else you can squeeze in.

Additionally, the Tetra runs on a proprietary detergent cartridge system created in partnership with BASF (a multinational chemical company). It knows exactly how much detergent to use depending on the cleaning cycle you choose via the companion app.
Each cartridge last for over 20 loads, and you'll receive an alert on the app when you have five washes left. You can purchase additional cartridges for $6 each on Heatworks' site, but it will be available in multi-packs too.

And speaking of cleaning cycles, the Tetra now offers additional cycle times as well (the demo unit only offered one cleaning setting that completed a full cycle in 10 minutes). You'll have the choice between five cleaning settings:
Gentle:For fragile glassware.
Plastic:For anything that might melt.
Fruit:To wash your produce without detergent.
Eco:The shortest cycle, which takes less than 30 minutes.
Standard:Which takes an hour to wash and dry in total.
Thankfully, it still doesn't require any plumbing or intricate wires and setup. All you have to do is plug it in, add three liters of water, a cartridge, pile those dishes in, and choose your preferred cleaning setting on the app. The only "work" you'll have to do is empty the water reservoir after each cycle.
Anyone wondering why someone would need a counter-top dishwasher probably doesn't live in a cramped NYC apartment. But Heatworks isn't marketing the Tetra as strictly a dishwasher for the kitchen.

You can also place it on your nightstand to clean your sex toys, take it on the road in your RV, or use it to wash fruit in bulk. New parents can designate it as their main device for washing all those baby bottles, too.
Regardless of what you need it for, you can pre-order it starting today on Heatworks' site. But you'll have to be patient — it won't start shipping until May 18, 2022.
It's worth noting that $399 price tag will only last until October 2, though. After that, the Tetra will cost $499. So, if you really want it, I'd suggest ordering it sooner rather than later.
