The winners emerge from a competitive field that included 19 nominees in total: Rage Against the Machine, Eurythmics, Radiohead, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, J. Geils Band, LL Cool J, MC5, The Meters, Rufus feat. Chaka Khan, Link Wray, and The Zombies, as well as the winning six. 。
