After more than five monthsof excruciatingly unnecessary hype and emotional torture, Crayola has finally revealed the name of the new blue crayon that will replace the now-retired Dandelion yellow color in boxes around the world.

Crafty colorers everywhere — get ready to grip: Bluetiful.
Awful, we know.
SEE ALSO:Behold Crayola's new, thoroughly underwhelming crayonOn Thursday morning at 9 a.m. ET, Crayola made the long-awaited announcement on its Facebook page.
In a livestream that lasted less than two minutes, CEO Smith Holland — joined onstage by 12 children wearing blue crayon shirts — yelled "BLUETIFUL," and the new crayon mascot and her polka dot tights made their first appearance.
Via GiphyThe crayon's bio is already on Crayola's website. And apparently, Bluetiful enjoys coding apps and video games, along with a good relaxing DIY project.

After revealing images of the nameless stick of blue wax back in May, Crayola announced fans would be able to decide the crayon's name. A fan submission process then yielded the final five names:
Dreams Come Blue
Star Spangled Blue
Blue Moon Bliss
Reach for the Stars
Bluetiful
A two-ish month voting process, which seemed to be more thorough than that of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election then commenced, and on Sept. 14 — more than five months after this whole ordeal was announced — Crayola finally put us out of our misery.
Earlier this year, the brand new crayon was revealed at an on-campus event at Oregon State University — where the vibrant YInMn Blue pigment that inspired it was first discovered by chemist Mas Subramanian in 2009.
Cool. Change happens, we get it. But was the way this change was brought about truly necessary?
Let's take a trip down a messy memory lane before we forget this madness ever happened, shall we?

May 2017:Crayola releases pictures of this blue crayon that still has no name, telling people to submit suggestions
June 2017:The top five names are revealed. Now people have to vote.
Sept. 2017:THE NAME OF A FREAKING BLUE CRAYON IS FINALLY DECIDED
An art supply announcement that spanned the course of seven months? Crayola clearly colored out of the lines with this one, but at long last, the Crayon Hunger Games have come to an end.
So artists of the world: Go forth, color, and live your lives — but never forget the light that the Dandelion crayon once brought to this world.
And as for you, Crayola — please don't put us through something like this ever again.
