Steve Bannon is out at Breitbart and the internet is reacting the only way it knows how: with sarcasm and memes.

On Tuesday, Breitbart announcedthat Steve Bannon would step down as executive chairman. The severing of ties comes in the wake of the publication of Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, Michael Wolff's controversial Trump tell-all, in which Bannon reportedly makes disparaging comments about President Donald Trump and his family.

Bannon was previously a senior adviser to Trump, but "resigned" in August. After leaving the White House, he promptly landed back at Breitbart as executive chairman, where he's overseen the trolls of the alt-right since.

When news of Bannon's firing broke, reactions ranged from astonished to joyful.
