Miguel debuted a song called "How Many" about the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile on his Soundcloud page this morning, singing, "I'm tired of human lives turned into hashtags and prayer hands."
Knowing that his work -- and everyone's work -- preventing the deaths of black Americans is far from over, he noted he intends to continue updating the song.
SEE ALSO:Celebrities tweet solidarity in the wake of the #AltonSterling and #PhilandoCastile shootings"This version was started (written/recorded) here in London in my hotel room between the hours of 4 a.m. and around 7 a.m. when i passed out," he wrote. "I'll update this song every week until its complete. Please feel free to share. #blacklivesmatter."
“How many blacks lives, how many black lives," Miguel questions, "Does it take to wake the change?”
