Having an Aussie accent in America can really play to your advantage. It's cute, it's unusual, it's got that。 Crocodile Dundee。vibe.。

It's no wonder then that Matthew McConaughey faked an Australian accent after returning home from living Down Under for one year between high school and college. 。

McConaughey pulled the accent for almost 12 months while he was studying at the University of Texas at Austin, he told Seth Meyers Friday on

To be honest, judging by his interview with Meyers, McConaughey has a pretty dodgy Australian accent. But maybe no one knew better -- how many real Aussies can you run into in Austin anyway?
